After a few months of riding on Zwift, I realized I didn't really have any idea what types of rides to be doing. I had no plan, and would just ride as hard as I could every time I would ride. After doing many of Coach David's weekly group rides, I decided to explore a training program with CIS. After speaking to Coach David, we decided that the 24 week self directed plan would be good. This program is everything I wanted. It lays out an entire six months of training on a week by week basis. Each phase builds off of the previous phase, and by the end of the six months you are a much stronger rider. This program is a well balanced and maintainable work load. I have seen significant increases in my power output, ability to recover, and I feel that I am training a lot smarter overall. I highly recommend this program if you want to become a stronger/smarter rider.

This program offers professional level coaching combined with highly effective structured workouts. The program helped me reach another level in cycling. In addition to the physical aspects of the program, the program teaches the rider to "focus on being focused". This is key to development on the bike, but for me it transcended cycling and affected my life outside of cycling as well. As Coach David says, if you have dreams, you better have goals. CIS can help riders reach their goals and live their cycling dreams. Anyone who is serious about improving as a cyclist should consider THE SYSTEM offered by CIS. This was my first program completed with the CIS System - and I am very impressed by the system, the approach and by Coach David. I came into the system in good shape (started right as outdoor season ended) and over the 24 week program have improved significantly. The program is well structured and it teaches you the importance of bringing along the "engine" in zone 2. It may not sound that impressive riding in Zone 2 - but it is hugely important and beneficial. Coach David is very knowledgeable and it is a big motivating factor knowing that he sees all your efforts - often you will get a message saying "well done, but next time think about so and so". Always in an encouraging way and based on your own specific efforts. Finally, the CIS community should not be underestimated - it is a great group to be part of whether on real life outdoor rides or whether on Zwift group rides over the winter - very inspiring and helpful. I am very eager to move onto the next program and continue the improvement journey under Coach David's guidance

  • If an individual is interested in your program do they have to be a New York City resident to be become a member of THE SYSTEM?

    No, CIS: Training Systems Cycling Program has developed programs so that individuals outside New York City can become members of THE SYSTEM. Through the use of social networks, leveraging technology and other means of communication channels, members can be rest assured that they will get total support through varies Coaching Interventions.

  • Do I need to be a competitive racer to become a member of this program?

    No, many of our members on THE SYSTEM are not competitive racers. However, through social networks sites like STRAVA, the majority of our members continue to receive achievements of KOM Status – King of the Mountain and QOM Status – Queen of the Mountain and lead many of the Strava Leaderboards.

  • I am over the age of 50, is it too late to become a member of THE SYSTEM?

    No it is never too late to become a member of THE SYSTEM. Our core belief behind CIS Training Systems Cycling Program is about Health and Wellness. As we age we need to find ways to stay fit and prevent ourselves from beginning a statistic.

  • I belong to a club and/or racing team, will this program interfere with my current situation?

    Not at all, it will create an awareness that others will notice in your riding style, speed, AND POWER, endurance, racing and climbing abilities. To the point where they will wonder how you have become so strong, and you will reply, “It is all about THE SYSTEM”.

  • I have been riding my bike for a few years now and I have been thinking about getting into racing. Do you have a program that can get me into race shape?

    YES! These plans have been vetted and drive tremendous value. However, it is not a silver bullets solution; it will take hard work, consistency, patience and determination to make a difference.

  • I am just starting out as a new rider (Newbie) to cycling; do you provide programs that will help me get better at this?

    We sure do! Have a Brand Newbie’s Program that highlights the first three areas of THE SYSTEM, Endurance, Speed Skills and Force.
